Role Overview : The role of Applications Onboarding Lead at Northern Trust is a pivotal position within the Cloud Onboarding team.

This team is responsible for driving transformation in Northern Trust's cloud technology experiences and capabilities, leveraging the latest technology to create a more resilient and modern real-time data environment based on cloud-native, microservice, and event-based architecture.

This role requires proficiency in human-centered design, business focus, technology-driven solutions, and transformational leadership.

Key Activities :

  • Supporting Application and Partner team Internal Clients in their onboarding journey as they transition to the new modern platform.
  • Partnering closely with technology, product, and business leaders to ensure a smooth transition for customers.
  • Managing the public cloud lifecycle through all aspects of onboarding and support execution for a business unit or major program portfolio.
  • Building solid solutions across cloud enabling technologies which are secure, scalable and meet business goals to enhance client experiences.
  • Paving the way for an expanding Technical Program Management (TPM) discipline within the team.
  • Managing program communications with key stakeholders and serving as the connective tissue across functions and business units.

Key Responsibilities :

Supporting Application and Partner team Internal Clients : The role involves supporting Application and Partner team Internal Clients in their onboarding journey as they transition to the new modern platform.

This includes partnering closely with seasoned technology, product, and business leaders to ensure a smooth transition for customers.

Managing Public Cloud Lifecycle : You will be responsible for managing the public cloud lifecycle through all aspects of onboarding and support execution for a business unit or major program portfolio.

This includes building solid platforms on mobile and web surfaces to enhance customer experiences.

Technical Program Management (TPM) : The role requires paving the way for an expanding TPM discipline within the team.

This involves leveraging industry knowledge and experience to teach the organization what a great TPM can achieve.

Program Communications : Managing program communications with key stakeholders at all levels across the company to enable transparency and timely information sharing.

You will serve as the connective tissue across functions and business units, bringing teams together to foster collaboration, improve decision-making, and deliver value for customers.

  • Customer Onboarding : Managing all Application and Partner team Internal Client deliverables with the Project Management team, maintaining and improving customer SLA metrics, managing customer satisfaction for high-touch customers and customer escalations, and facilitating customer meetings and teleconferences.
  • Product Management : You will be expected to demonstrate proficiency in human-centered design, business focus, technology-driven solutions, and transformational leadership.

This includes defining clear and actionable problem statements, leveraging customer insights, owning and prioritizing the near-term product roadmap, understanding and leveraging technology, and developing and communicating a 6-month vision to senior stakeholders.

Key Skills :

Technical Proficiency : A strong technical background is crucial, ideally with experience in building highly scalable platforms, products, or services.

This includes the ability to proactively identify and mitigate technical risks throughout the delivery lifecycle.

  • Communication and Collaboration : Exceptional communication and collaboration skills are necessary to work across different functions, organizations, and reporting boundaries.
  • Problem-Solving and Influencing : Excellent problem-solving and influencing skills are required, involving a quantitative approach to problem-solving and the ability to simplify technically complex issues.
  • Customer Focus : A strong focus on customer satisfaction is essential.
  • Project Management : Advanced project management, time management, and coordination skills are needed to plan, organize, staff, and assist in the overall direction of the department.
  • Human-Centered Design : Proficiency in human-centered design is important.
  • Business Acumen : A strong business focus is required.
  • Transformational Leadership : The ability to develop and communicate a vision to senior stakeholders and partner teams is crucial.

Experience :

  • Internal or external client delivery and service experience using complex technology solutions.
  • Agile, Product Management, RTE, SRE, PMO certifications.
  • Financial reporting, capital management, resource management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 10+ years in Program or Service delivery roles.
