Description
The Absence Management Specialist provides the day to day administration of the leave of absence process at TUHS. This position acts as liaison between managers and the vendor for leaves covered by the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), military and personal leaves to ensure appropriate application of the TUHS leaves policies.
An employee in this position will administer the ADA and Pregnancy Discrimination Act (PDA) accommodation process when the need arises.
The Absence Management Specialist will also investigate allegations of improper use of leave time, as needed. CLMS - Certified Leave Management Specialist required within 1 year of hire.
Education
Bachelors Degree (Required)
Combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Experience
3 Years experience in a related Human Resources function (Required)
1 Year experience involving the application of federal and state employment and leave laws including the FMLA, ADA, USERRA and the PDA (Required)
License / Certifications
CLMS - Cert Leave Mgt Specialist (Required) - NOTE : if not certified, will need to complete within one year of hire
PHR - Prof in Human Resources (Preferred)
SPHR - Sr Prof in Human Resources (Preferred)
