Purpose

Virtual Senior Case Managers will be responsible for individualized assessments and providing rental assistance and housing support for Class Members impacted by family separation.

Program participants may be located anywhere in the United States, requiring a high degree of flexibility and adaptability by candidates to meet the unique needs of each participant based on their local resources.

An important prerequisite for this position is the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team in a collegial manner and to work independently to carry assignments through to completion.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate timely eligibility screenings and intake for all assigned cases.
  • Conduct intake services with clients to assess needs including completing a budget with all Class Member households.
  • Provide individualized support through rental assistance, housing support, referrals, and advocacy.
  • Assess and monitor client progress to determine eligibility each month, address challenges, and to ensure that available resources are utilized.
  • Maintain digital case file using CWS online database, including, but not limited to case notes, assessments, supporting documentation and other required program documentation.
  • Collaborate effectively with coworkers and partner organizations. Build and maintain relationships with area service providers for the benefit of clients.
  • Serve clients in any state across the United States by conducting research, identifying referrals, and understanding local housing markets as needed.
  • Adapt to serving clients in new locales without access to existing CWS resources.
  • Participate in program development meetings and provide feedback on program structure as requested.
  • Manage time and personal workload effectively in a remote work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education :

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional work experience.

Experience :

  • At least four years of experience in a local resettlement affiliate or a national office of a resettlement agency necessary;
  • local resettlement affiliate experience strongly preferred;
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills and ability to manage a large and diverse workload under pressure and with competing priorities;
  • Ability to maintain a high performance standard with attention to detail;
  • Experience in general office work, processing information and materials and maintaining records and files;
  • Strong interpersonal and diplomacy skills; ability to work effectively with partners and teams;
  • Ability to conduct oneself in a professional and courteous manner at all times to represent the professional and institutional interests of CWS;
  • Knowledge and experience in working with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and database software is essential;
  • Strong writing skills required.

Skills :

  • Fluency in Spanish is required
  • Strong interpersonal and diplomacy skills; ability to work collaboratively and effectively with partners and teams;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment required

Work Location

This position is a remote US-based role with in-person responsibilities. Employees wishing to maintain a remote work arrangement must be able to fulfil the following conditions :

  • Ability to maintain secure and appropriate personal work environment for day-to-day work
  • Access to strong and reliable internet access
  • Ability to adhere to CWS data security policies and protect sensitive and personally identifiable information
  • Regular work hours must span core business hours 10AM-4PM Eastern time
  • Close proximity to U.S. airport and ability to travel to attend CWS and external meetings, conferences, site visits and other in-person engagements.
  • Must use CWS provided equipment such as laptop and cell phone
