Foghorn Labs is searching for an Email Marketing Associate Manager to join our team of outdoor enthusiasts. The person in this role will lead and scale Foghorn's email service offering while implementing impactful email systems, driving engagement, and turning customers into brand champions.

Starting Salary Range : $65,000-$75,000 + Performance-Based Bonuses

Summary

The Email Marketing Associate Manager provides strategy, implementation, and optimization in the areas of email and SMS marketing.

The person in this role will work closely with clients and internal teams to develop engaging email flows, design visually appealing templates, and craft compelling copy that resonates with target audiences.

The Email Marketing Associate Manager is the leader for the internal and external development of our email marketing services while advancing initiatives in support of Foghorn Labs’ business development.

Foghorn Labs is an independently-owned digital marketing agency with offices in Portland and Bend, OR that works with outdoor and active lifestyle brands.

Primary Responsibilities

Email Flows and Campaigns (60%)

  • Develop and optimize email and SMS automation flows, including welcome series, abandoned cart, post-purchase, and re-engagement campaigns as well as the creation of associated list segmentations.
  • Design, build, and implement targeted, personalized email campaigns for multiple clients.
  • Implement A / B testing strategies to optimize performance and ensure email campaigns and flows are achieving key KPIs.
  • Analyze and report on email performance metrics, providing insights, and data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement, while collaborating with internal team members to improve custom data visualizations.
  • Build proficiency in new and emerging platforms and strategies to evolve with client needs and industry trends.

Client Management (20%)

  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring satisfaction with email marketing services and awareness of important platform updates and best practices.
  • Work alongside Account Managers and department leads to manage projects and tasks to completion in a timely manner.

Template Design (10%)

  • Design visually appealing and responsive email templates using relevant email platforms and tools such as InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Canva.
  • Ensure email designs align with brand guidelines and are optimized for the relevant client, devices, and platforms.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal team members to source and incorporate imagery, graphics, and text into email templates.

Copywriting (10%)

  • Craft, proofread, and edit persuasive email copy that drives action and resonates with target audiences.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop content that aligns with campaign objectives and brand voice.

Minimum Qualifications

BA / BS degree, ideally in business (marketing, economics, management, leadership, entrepreneurship) or language arts (English, creative writing).

BA / BS requirement waived for candidates with equivalent practical experience.

  • 3 or more years of experience, excluding internships, working with a brand or in a digital marketing agency with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Must have expertise in Klaviyo, Mailchimp, and at least one other email marketing platform (ConstantContact, HubSpot, ActiveCampaign, etc.).
  • Experience in one of the following of Foghorn Labs’ service areas : Paid Media Advertising (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Google Ads, Microsoft Ads);

Ecommerce CMS systems (Shopify, WordPress, BigCommerce, Magento, Volusion); Web Analytics (Google Analytics, SEMRush, Moz, Adobe Analytics, Hotjar, KISSmetrics).

  • Ability to adapt quickly, think strategically, and seek solutions to unfamiliar challenges.
  • Capable of recognizing trends and anomalies within large amounts of data.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail in a project management capacity.
  • Ability to oversee tasks and projects to completion, on time, and mindful of client goals.
  • Clear, concise, and compelling communication skills (written and verbal) across all responsibility areas.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets as well as PowerPoint, Keynote, or Google Slides. Experience with graphic design and HTML / CSS a plus.
  • Passionate about the evolution of marketing and being outside.
  • Plays well with others.
