Job Summary :
We are seeking a Sales Application Engineer to support the Sales department in both technical and non-technical activities.
This role bridges the gap between engineering and sales, requiring someone with a strong technical background who is also outgoing, customer-focused, and eager to sell.
The ideal candidate will analyze technical aspects of products, develop cost estimates, and work with customers to close deals.
This is a unique opportunity for an analytical thinker who enjoys engaging with clients and driving sales through technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities :
- Evaluate customer RFQs (Request for Quotes) to assess manufacturing feasibility.
- Develop manufacturing cost estimates for custom products.
- Collaborate with sales, manufacturing, and quality teams to meet customer needs.
- Provide technical support to the customer service team.
- Establish strong relationships with customers and respond to inquiries via phone and email.
- Perform outbound customer prospecting and follow up on quotes to close sales.
- Analyze sales metrics and trends, and provide actionable insights.
- Work within the company’s ERP system to manage data and processes.
Skills and Abilities :
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Analytical thinker with the ability to assess sales data and metrics.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and a focus on continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other Windows-based programs.
- Experience with SolidWorks is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of CNC Screw Turning machinery is a plus.
- Basic understanding of raw materials and their properties.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and a self-starter.
- Team player with the ability to collaborate across departments.
Education and Experience :
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent machine shop experience.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
