JOB TITLE : Refund Specialist
DEPARTMENT : Business Office
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES :
- Responsible for researching accounts that have a credit balance and identifying the individual / party due the refund.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Generate monthly credit balance report from practice management system.
- Research credit balance accounts to determine if credit is refundable.
- Verify insurance establish order of coverage.
- Recommend adjustments to account if necessary. Prepare necessary paperwork for approval by department manager.
- Prepare refund paperwork and submit to Finance. EMPLOYEE BENEFITS :

Education :
- Preferred : Some college preferred with emphasis in accounting.
- Minimum : High school diploma
Experience :
Preferred : Two years of medical billing office experience required with emphasis on account research.
