Position Overview : Wegener Welding LLC, a small distributor of specialty highly technical thermoplastic welding equipment manufactured in Europe, is looking for an experienced Technical Sales Professional to complement their North American sales force.
The candidate needs to be a self-starter with professional organization and communication skills. Previous sales experience in the plastic welding or other industrial machinery industry is a plus.
Applicant must have a history of longevity and initiative. Candidate should be eager to learn, have strong work ethic, be a team player with exceptional communication, writing, and telephone skills and the proven ability to develop an extensive network of industry professional.
A background in technical, mechanical, or engineering is a plus. A high level of integrity is an absolute must.
Responsibilities :
- Outside sales including solicitation of new business / sales via phone, internet, and in-person visits.
- Develop and enhance network of industry contacts to acquire additional business.
- Visiting customers to discuss equipment and machinery benefits for their particular application.
- Active participation at informal and formal events, industry meetings and committees, as well as at shows and conferences to raise the profile and awareness of the Company across the marketplace
- Prepare quotations, establish price lists, and coordinate the sales process from start to finish
- Create and distribute flyers, brochures, email campaigns, and other marketing materials.
- Attain training / expertise / experience in technical products in order to demonstrate, support, and train customers and colleagues on proper operation of the equipment.
Utilize resources provided by vendors, industry connections or continuing education. Become an expert in the welding, processing and related issues of thermoplastic sheet, pipe and related materials.
Support the technical service team with machinery installations and troubleshooting issues
Requirements :
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a technical sales or technical service / support role (thermoplastic welding industry experience a plus)
- Must be detailed, organized, focused, and deliberate in approach, with good follow-through
- Possess a thorough understanding of market dynamics and have the ability to adapt in a fast-paced and fluid market environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office required. Use of CRM software and other marketing tools required.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time within North America (average 30-40% travel). Occasional international travel may be necessary.
- Must be self-disciplined with strong personal time management skills and a results-oriented mindset.
- Must be a team player, willing to cross-train and collaborate within all departments.
- Fluency in written and spoken German or French is a plus
