Job Overview :
A full-time opportunity exists for an individual to work in NYRA’s maintenance department at Saratoga Race Course.
Essential Functions :
Responsibilities of the Equipment Operator include but are not limited to the following :
- Operate equipment to maintain and groom the dirt racetrack for racing.
- Ensure compliance with established safety standards and other operating policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate proper technique and safety regulations.
- Diagnose, fix, and report track maintenance.
- Perform preventative maintenance.
- Report unsafe track surface areas.
Qualifications :
- Experience operating heavy machinery and hand tools such as : ExcavatorSkid steerPayloaderTractorsHarrowsWater trucks
- Valid Driver's License.
- Ability to obtain a NYS Gaming Commission license.
Summary of Physical Requirements and Work Environment :
The Equipment Operator must be able to operate heavy equipment and to be able to work outside in all types of weather. The role requires extensive strenuous activity and pushing and pulling of objects over 50 pounds.
Pay Range / Salary : per hour
