Cleveland-Cliffs has an immediate opportunity for a Senior Process Automation Engineer at our Cleveland, OH operation. This position is responsible for providing Level 2 Supervisory Automation support, as outlined below, to increase efficiency, quality, and productivity.
The ideal candidate will have prior steel industry experience, be self-motivated and thrive in a fast-paced work environment with complex operations.
Summary of Responsibilities :
- Serve as a cross-functional team leader on special projects, assignments, or initiatives.
- Monitor supervisory computer systems in real-time of steel mill processes including maintenance of computer hardware and software, design and installation of new computer control systems, and modernization of existing systems.
- Research, analyze, design, and maintain manufacturing control systems for continuous improvement to the manufacturing process.
- Prepare and present interpretation of findings and provide relevant conclusions and recommendations.
- Develop custom software, programming language code, and database configuration for tracking, communications modelling as well as Human Machine Interface (HMI), networking, video systems, etc.
- Develop, implement, and maintain other software relative to mill processes such as product tracking, product dimensioning, data reporting, and analysis.
- Identify, develop, evaluate production projects by applying advanced engineering techniques to solve complex problems and provide recommendations to management.
