We are searching for self driven Material Handlers who will be responsible for loading, unloading, and moving materials and finished goods within the plant and on plant grounds using industrial lift trucks and other material handling equipment.

This role involves following specific work assignments under general supervision and resolving most problems with limited supervisory assistance.

The Material Handler must use extreme care when operating equipment and adhere to the Company’s safety and conduct policies.

Material Handler

1st Shift 5am-1 : 30pm

$20.00hr

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Review job orders (written or verbal) to determine specific handling requirements.
• Move materials from storage or work sites to designated areas using power equipment (e.g., LP Sit-down and Electric standup) or by hand, when appropriate.
• Pick and pack orders.
• Perform cycle counting and generate reports.
• Pay attention to detail to pick non-standard parts.
• Load / unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves or into / from vehicles.
• Install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent in-transit movement or damage.
• Count and record units moved or handled; attach material / product identification tags / labels.
• Assemble crates and pallets for material / product storage and / or shipment.
• Clean and maintain the work area (daily), material handling equipment, and other tools / equipment.
• Work in a safe manner at all times.
• Ensure all work adheres to IEA’s ISO and Quality standards.
• Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands :

• Maximum lifting requirement : 50 pounds (occasionally), 25 pounds (frequently).
• Maintain physical condition for frequent lifting, carrying, standing, sitting (operating forklift), walking, climbing, crouching, stooping, squatting, and twisting upper body.
• Work at heights off the ground up to 15 feet.
• Vision requirements : Close, distance, and peripheral vision; depth perception.

Work Environment :

• Metal fabrication / assembly shop and indoor / outdoor storage areas.
• Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, toxic / caustic chemicals, moving mechanical parts / equipment including overhead cranes, sharp / heavy materials, and inclement weather.
• Personal protective equipment required : Safety glasses, gloves, and safety shoes.

Position Requirements :

• Ability to read and understand job requirements, shop drawings, and blueprints.
• Ability to operate industrial equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and ability to follow safe work practices.
• Ability to communicate and work effectively with others.
• Minimum of 3 years of material handling / forklift operator experience required.
• Experience with Stand Up forklifts and RF Scan Gun preferred.
• Related technical training (high school or beyond) is desirable but not essential.
• Forklift operator certification and a valid driver’s license required.
