Scope of Work :
- Troubleshoots and resolves escalated Access and CPE device field issues.
- Performs assessments on existing technologies to determine performance and capacity gaps.
- Establishes security, connectivity and access parameters.
- Provides recommendations to optimize network infrastructure.
- Tests and tunes security devices and systems.
- Programs routers and switches.
- Implements communications technologies (data or voice).
- Manages network services from planning phase through implementation.
- Solid knowledge of routing protocols, network hardware and software, security technologies and network infrastructure is required.
- 10 years of experience.
- Advanced knowledge of the DOCSIS and EPON standards
- Working knowledge of CMTS platforms including : Casa C100G, Arris E6000, Cisco cBR8, RPHY, Harmonic vCMTS and RPDs, Vecima RPDs
- Working knowledge of EPON platforms including : ADTRAN 95XX and SDX-6210, Vecima (Nokia) 7360 and Distributed Access Architecture SF-4x, SC-2D3
- Working knowledge of switch platforms including : Cisco NCS / ASR, Juniper PTX / QFX / ACX
- Working knowledge of routing protocols including : OSPF ISIS, BGP, v4 / v6 Multicast
- Ability to write technical documentation
- Ability to write and follow detailed technical test plans
- CPE and ONU background in trouble shooting is highly desirable
- Creative Network Trouble Shooting Skills.
Experience Needed :
- Field Issue Resolution Engineering (FIRE team)
- Really strong Docsis and a little PON
- Someone who knows not everyone will have everything he needs. Will take some of the things on the job as long as have strong Docsis support experience.
- P0-P1 troubleshoot take information from the field. Reproduce in lab, work with vendors to see if the fix works if it does work with the vendor to implement
- CPE (customer premise equipment) must have
- Fiber Optic Network
- RPhy
- OFMA
- People with vendor experience : sagent com, chip manufacturing, equipment vendors, software vendors. Find people who are travelling with Broadcom, agent com, harmonic, intel, Motorola, Texas instruments, etc.
