POSITION : Lead Teacher Great Start Readiness Program
HOURS : Monday through Thursday classroom, Friday planning and professional development.
START DATE : 24 / 25 School Year
RATE OF PAY : $38,
REPORTS TO : Director of Early Childhood and Building Principal
QUALIFICATIONS :
A valid Michigan teaching certificate and an Early Childhood Education (ZA) or Early Childhood-General and Special Education (ZS) endorsement OR A bachelor’s degree in early childhood education OR child development with a specialization in preschool teaching.
The transcript will document a major, rather than a minor, in child development or early childhood education
Experience working with Preschool Children preferred
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Helps to plan varied activities for preschool children using the Connect4Learning (C4L) Curriculum
- Participates in home visitation with all enrolled families twice a year
- Participates in Parent / Teacher Conferences twice a year
- Participates in Parent Involvement Nights twice a year
- Follows consistent routines and limits
- Makes all children feel comfortable, secure and loved
- Insures health and safety of children at all times
- Helps to provide regular feedback to parents about their children
- Helps to maintain a portfolio on each child using the Teaching Strategies Gold
- Assists families with resource referrals
- Enforces the discipline policies and procedures stated in the parent handbook and staff handbook
- Maintains classroom orderliness
- Works with the Director of Early Childhood Programs to plan field trips and special activities
- Attends Early Childhood Curriculum meetings
- Helps to plan parent education / involvement activities
- Punctual, reliable and predictable attendance is required
- Other duties as assigned
