The Aircraft Quality Inspector reports to the Director of Maintenance (DOM) and o versees the release to service of airframes, engines, propellers, appliances, and the component parts thereof of our aircraft in support of our geospatial production work.
Current fleet includes Cessna single engine, twin engine, and turboprop aircraft. Follows the Quality Management System to provide required documentation for aircraft inspection, repair, fabrication, and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products.
Ensures inspection standards, methods, and procedures used comply with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, manufacturer's specifications, and recommendations.
Assists DOM with various tasks as assigned.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities :
- Ensure aircraft compliance and safety in alignment with FARs for airframes, engines, and avionics.
- Facilitate effective communication within the Maintenance team.
- Maintain accurate internal records.
- Ensure inspection tool integrity.
- Oversee inspection processes.
- Uphold quality standards.
- Inspect incoming materials, including hardware, parts, accessories, components, and raw materials.
- Support the Director of Maintenance by helping with various tasks, including training, project scheduling, securing outside service support, hangar maintenance, etc.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Required :
- FAA A&P license.
- 5+ years of A&P mechanic experience.
- 3+ years of quality control experience (which may have been earned concurrently with A&P mechanic experience).
- Safety- and Quality-First attitude.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to understand blueprints, documents, and manuals.
- Be a team player with a sense of urgency to meet deadlines and commitments.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain positive relationships with vendors and customers (both internal and external).
- Ability to multitask and prioritize.
- Be available as needed for overtime and also to travel as required to meet Hoffmann Aviaiton's mission objectives.
Preferred :
- Bachelor's degree in aviation management, business management, systems management, quality management, or a related field.
- Inspection Authorization (IA) certification (or ability to attain certification within 6 months of hire).
