The mission of GWU Hospital is to provide the highest quality of healthcare, advanced medical technology, and world class service to its patients in an academic medical center dedicated to education and research Main tasks include : Paramedic The paramedic works in a full-service Intensive Care Unit and / or Emergency room.

This role assumes the responsibility for assisting with the implementation of supportive nursing care under the direction of the Registered Nurse and Medical Director.

Under the direction of a health care practitioner, the Paramedic provides patient care within a defined scope of practice in accordance with the DC regulations.

This includes patient care / observation, specified treatments and procedures, provision of environmental and personal safety, and effective communication.

The Paramedic will also be responsible for collecting pertinent data within their certification scope of responsibilities and report these clinical, psychosocial, etc.

Qualifications Qualifications High School diploma or equivalency2 years of experience as a Paramedic, with at least 6 months in a hospital setting or equivalentSome advanced education preferred.
