Summary :
Our client within the Energy Oil & Gas sector is searching for a Senior Accountant. The Senior Accountant plays a pivotal role in maintaining the General Ledger, Balance Sheet, and P&L for global companies.
The ideal candidate will have all the needed skills such as SOX Control, General Ledger, Trial Balance, Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow Statement, and overall account reconciliations experience.
Candidate should be acclimated to working in a fast-paced environment, meeting all required deadlines, and performing duties in a timely and accurate manner.
Seeking a proactive and critical thinker who can identify opportunities for continuous process improvement, and there maybe overtime work that will be required during critical times.
Duties :
- Managing monthly and quarterly analysis preparing financial analysis of G&A costs and variances for two entities.
- Evaluating accruals and entries, as well as reviewing booking necessary accounting entries, including accruals and post-close gross margin adjustments.
- Review bank reconciliation and oversee the reconciliation of daily and monthly bank statements, and invoice approvals.
- Coordinate approvals of booking of G&A invoices and expense reports entered by the accounting analyst.
- Facilitate inter-company reconciliation to confirm and reconcile inter-company quarterly balances to meet Group reporting requirements.
- Confirm balance sheet reconciliation and ensure the regular reconciliation of monthly balance sheet accounts.
- Prepare budget preparation and forecasting for company annual budget and forecast.
- Present executive presentations to management for validation, document assumptions taken by management, and produce actual vs budget analysis.
- Draft lease contract analysis reports managing the analysis of IFRS 16 lease contracts and evaluate the impact on the accounting ledger.
- Update transfer pricing lists, and assist the Tax Department, and internal business units.
- Work with external Contractors with the analysis and understand the tax implications in relation to business objectives for the entities located in two different countries.
- Collaborate with tax advisors to analyze and reconcile the tax treatment of our commercial activities.
- Prepare accurate and timely tax returns and follow-up on disputes and amendments.
- Communicate with external advisors to obtain & relay information on any tax legislation updates.
- Enter financial information into the consolidation tool for Group reporting.
- Assist with preparing the annual tax and financial reporting package, including related note disclosures.
- Mentor new team members, lead projects, and review accounting entries.
- Business line support activities with Crude Trading, Products Trading, LPG, Biofuels, Petrochemicals, and Shipping departments.
Requirements :
- 7+ years of experience in Accounting with an corporate Energy Oil & Gas Company.
- Leverage strong fundamental accounting skills and proficiency in Excel, spreadsheets, graphs, and charts.
- Digital aptitude and familiarity with tools like PowerBI, VBA, and Python are advantageous.
Education :
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
- CPA or working towards CPA certification strongly preferred.
