Pay Range : $160,000-$210,000

Required Skills and Experience :

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related technical field (Masters Preferred)
  • 15 yrs experience minimum of Business Development within Defense and Aerospace Contracting
  • 10 yrs minimum of technical proposal writing and capture management
  • 5 years minimum of leading successful proposal development efforts and implementing software, tools, templates, and resources for successful capture
  • Proven experience in implementing levels of Shipley Proposal Process into new organizations.
  • Strong understanding of FAR / DFAR / TINA regulations
  • Proven track record of successfully managing the operations side of business development to technically develop winning proposals within the defense or aerospace industry.
  • Ability to obtain a secret clearance

Job Description :

A client in the Southern California area is looking for a Business Development Director of Operations to join their team.

This candidate will oversee all proposal and contracting processes, to include leading contract negotiations, assisting in capture planning and win strategy, leading technical proposal writing, and developing proposal compliance matrixes.

This candidate will essentially be responsible for running all of the behind-the-scenes operations of Business Development, apart from the actual identification of opportunities.

This would include extensive proposal writing, thorough understanding of DFARS / TINA, proposal planning / scheduling, and on time proposal delivery.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 15 years of experience within Defense / Aerospace contracting and have been primarily supporting through a BD, technical writing, or capture management function.

It is strongly preferred that this candidate come from an Engineering or Technical background, and have been Business Development focused for the last 10-15 years.

This role will require occasional travel to customer sites.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
