WB Games Avalanche Artist, Technical
WB Games Avalanche seeks a Technical Artist to support and assist the Cinematic Department. This position is an individual contributor primarily focused on assisting the content creation teams from an implementation and technical standpoint.
This work can include tools R&D, process and pipeline improvements, and full integration of all cinematic content into the game.
The technical artist can also be called on to solve and implement complex tools problems for the game.
The Daily
- Work as a team with programmers, artists and other technical artists
- Content integration in Unreal Engine
- Implementation, troubleshooting, and overall production for cinematic based content using our priority tool, Scene Rig.
- Unreal, Scene Rig, and Motion Builder support for outsourcing
- Collaborate with AVL Team and Engineering to develop and polish cinematic tools.
- QA, testing, and feedback for all tools
The Essentials
- 3 years progressively complex industry experience
- Experience with industry standard 3-D package (Unreal, Motion Builder)
- Able to grasp and enjoy highly technical work.
- Solid experience and understanding of art / animation pipelines for modern video game pipelines
- Basic understanding of methods of optimizing game art assets for game engines.
- Able to learn new packages and proprietary tools.
- Solid organization skills with adherence to file structures, naming conventions and other established protocols.
- Able to self-manage and meet deadlines.
- Must work well within a team.
- Excellent communication skills, especially within the animation department.
- Willingness to accept direction and redo / iterate work until it's right.
- Must have an active, passionate interest in current video games to help drive the game to the next level.
