JOB SUMMARY : Diagnose failures and recommend appropriate repair procedures. Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
Receives direction and supervision from the Service Department Foreman. Work will be performed primarily on Peterbilt vehicles.
Receives job assignments from the Service Writer / Advisor. Interacts with dealership personnel, manufacturer representatives, and customers.
Provides mentorship to less-skilled technicians. Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations, such as EPA, OSHA, and DOT.
Work in a safe manner always. Report any safety issues to management immediately. Ensure that vehicle is kept clean. Report to department management immediately anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
- Keep the shop area neat and clean. COMPETENCIES : Self-motivated and detail-oriented with solid organizational and time management skills;
- Must be able to provide excellent customer service; Strong communication skills, written and verbal; Basic computer skills;
- Good problem-solving skills; Works well with a team and managers. JOB QUALIFICATIONS : High school diploma or equivalent;
- Vocational diploma or degree in diesel or truck repair required; Three to five years of related experience or training required or equivalent combination of experience and education;
CDL license recommended; Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record; MX Engine, Cummins Heavy Duty, Cummins Mid-Range, Allison Transmission, or Eaton Transmission certifications preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel;
reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch.
The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and / or move up to 40 pounds, frequently lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible. BENEFITS :
