We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Administrator to join our IT Infrastructure team in support of our HHS client.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Network Design and Implementation :
- Design, deploy, and manage network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks.
- Configure and Monitor Cisco IP Phone with ISE Systems
- Implement network solutions that align with the organization's strategic goals and objectives.
- Evaluate and recommend new networking technologies and solutions to improve performance and efficiency.
- Network Maintenance and Support :
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network issues to ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance.
- Perform regular network maintenance tasks, including firmware updates, patch management, and hardware replacements.
- Provide technical support and expertise to resolve network-related issues and outages promptly.
- Security Management :
- Implement and manage network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection / prevention systems, and encryption.
- Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans to identify and mitigate risks.
- Develop and enforce network security policies and procedures to protect organizational data and resources.
- Network Optimization :
- Analyze network traffic and performance metrics to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
- Optimize network configurations and implement quality of service (QoS) policies to ensure efficient data flow.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to optimize network-related aspects of applications and services.
- Documentation and Reporting :
- Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, changes, and procedures.
- Generate regular reports on network performance, security incidents, and maintenance activities.
- Develop and update disaster recovery and business continuity plans for network infrastructure.
- Team Leadership and Collaboration :
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior network administrators and IT staff.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including systems administrators, developers, and security professionals, to support IT projects and initiatives.
- Participate in planning and execution of IT infrastructure projects and upgrades.

Required Qualifications :
- 10+ years' experience with IT Network Administration.
- Experience with Federal Security Operations Center capabilities.
- Proven ability to implement, configure, and support activities with Cisco switches and Palo Alto firewalls.
- Understanding of how to develop, identify and research new ways to interact with data and visualization to provide customers advanced awareness of the operational environment.
- Advanced knowledge of cyber threats, tools, techniques and processes.
- Network certification, such as CCNA or CCNP.
- Experience with implementing, configuring and managing network security infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection / prevention systems (IDS / IPS), and virtual private networks (VPNs).
- Ability to conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to identify and mitigate security risks.
- Experience with developing and implementing security policies and procedures.
- Ability to monitor and analyze network traffic for suspicious activity.
- Experience with responding to security incidents and taking appropriate action to contain and remediate the issue.
- Ability to stay up to date with the latest network security threats and vulnerabilities.
- Experience with collaborating with other IT staff and stakeholders to ensure the overall security of the network.
- Certification in network security, such as CISSP; Palo Alto Firewall certification.
Desired Qualifications :
- Experience with the Department of Health and Human Services or the Department of Homeland Security.
- Desire to analyze and understand data and find anomalies.
- Thought leadership in prototyping cyber tools and capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to build trusted advisor relationships with clients.
- Experience with security compliance frameworks such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework and HIPAA.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell.
- Experience with SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) tools.
- Experience with cloud security technologies.
- Experience with Palo Alto Prisma.
Education Requirement : Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Clearance Requirement : Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.
The salary range for this position depends upon multiple factors including location, the individual's knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, and contract-specific budget constraints and organizational requirements.
