Description
The Clinical Neuropsychologist evaluates neuropsychological status of individuals with complex medical conditions referred by their providers.
Completes neuropsychological evaluations through interview, behavioral observation, and test interpretation of cognitive, motor, and psychological measures to diagnose and formulate treatment plans.
May also provide psychological intervention to individuals with neurobehavioral disorders, serve as consultant, and participate in training and research.
Adjunct academic faculty appointment through the department of psychiatry in conjunction with the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine is available.
Must be board certified or board eligible. Opportunities for program development, education of medical staff, and supervision of psychology trainees are available.
Opportunities for presentations to staff and community on areas of expertise are also available. Participation in department rotational on-call is expected throughout the year.
Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital.
Qualifications
Education : Ph. D or Psy.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA approved program in an accredited degree-granting college or university.
Pre-doctoral internship from an APA approved program. Formal two-year post-doctoral fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology according to Houston Conference guidelines.
Must be board certified or board eligible, and have certification as required by medical staff guidelines. Broadly trained Clinical Psychologist with firm foundation in Psychodiagnostics and knowledge of Neuroanatomy, Neurophysiology, and Neuropsychology.
Familiarity with psychosocial consequences of chronic illness, medical trauma, mental / emotional disorders, and a wide variety of psychotherapeutic treatment modalities.
Licensure / Registration : Licensure by the State of Florida as a Psychologist. Must be eligible for Medical Staff Privileges.
Experience in Rehabilitation or related field desired.
