Job Description
Job Description
Insurance billing specialists, also called coding specialists, expedite the medical billing process. They use specialized knowledge of both medicine and insurance policies to communicate with insurance companies on behalf of medical personnel and patients.
Insurance companies and programs, such as Medicare and Medicaid, determine reimbursements owed to patients based on the diagnosis and health condition codes assigned by these specialists.
Peeples Orthotics and Prosthetics is looking for an experienced medical billing professional.
In addition to coding and billing, our insurance specialist will receive and schedule patients and answer phones, at the front desk, alongside our patient care coordinator.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Insurance billing / coding certification or three years of experience preferred
Success Factors
- Effective organizational, time management and planning skills
- Good interpersonal and verbal skills for communicating with others
- Ability to work effectively as a team member which includes fostering open collaboration and constructive dialogue with everyone around you
- Act with integrity in all ways and at all times
Our Investment in You
- Competitive salary based on experience
- Competitive health insurance benefits
- Paid vacation and sick time
- Frequent interaction with our leadership team
Company Description
Founded in 2002, Peeples Orthotics and Prosthetics has a long history of getting our patients back to a level of physical activity that many never thought possible.
In fact, a lot of patients that come through our doors assume that having uncomfortable, or even painful, prosthetics is just a part of wearing them.
Our mission and what we pride ourselves on is to prove that assumption wrong. Whether our patients need a short-term orthotic brace or a full prosthetic limb, we are here to make sure that their lives and activity level are improving because of it, not hindered by it.
