Job Description
The Research Pharmacy Assistant of the Department of Pharmacy Services reports to the Investigational Drug Services Pharmacy (aka MUSC Research Pharmacy) Manager.
Under general supervision, the Research Pharmacy Assistant provides technical support to the investigational drug distribution activities of the Department of Pharmacy Services as well as administrative support for clinical trials conducted at MUSC.

Job Description
Minimum Training and Education : Associate’s Degree and two years of pharmacy technician experience; orBachelor’s Degree and one year of pharmacy technician experience;
or Bachelor’s Degree in a science or healthcare related field and two years of research-related experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and intermediate level computer skills are required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. Experience in aseptic drug preparation preferred. Previous work in a clinical research support role is highly desirable.
Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations : Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy (SCBOP) must be obtained prior to first day of employment and national certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) must be obtained within six months ofemployment.
Candidates without PTCB certification upon hire may be provided additional pharmacy-related training as needed. Certifications must be maintained.
