Based in Grand Rapids, MI, our organization focuses on Awareness, Asset-Building, Alternatives to predatory lending, and Advocacy as part of our strategic themes.
Position Overview :
Project GREEN’s Financial Capabilities Director manages the development, marketing, and delivery of individual-facing financial empowerment resources including financial capabilities workshops and asset-building programs.
Additionally, this director works with the Executive Director on the development of the organization’s integrated marketing strategy and tactical implementation of all external activities and communications related to Financial Capabilities programs, events, and activities.
Reports to : Executive Director
Works with : Advocacy Director; Director of Operations; and Administrative & Social Media Coordinator
Supervises : Financial Capabilities Facilitators
Work format : Full-time; in office at least three days per week to begin; conducting workshops as scheduled which will include evenings and weekends.
Responsibilities include :
Development and delivery of Project GREEN financial capabilities and empowerment initiatives. This currently includes dfree : 12 Steps to Financial Freedom;
500 Strong; Credit Building 101; and Money Talk Workshop. We plan to incorporate other curricula and resources into our offerings.
- Provide one-on-one financial coaching and group workshops to Cristo Rey Community Center constituents in Lansing, MI. (Travel required.)
- Recruit, train, and oversee Financial Capabilities Facilitators.
- Facilitate consumer-facing workshops and programs in partnership with the facilitator team.
- Schedule, promote and coordinate programs to the public.
- Collect, analyze, and report on program impact data.
- Participate in the annual Economic Empowerment Conference.
- With Executive Director, lead integrated marketing planning process.
- Other related duties as negotiated to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

- Strong financial capabilities background.
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Passion for the organization’s mission and for community service.
- Sense of urgency and innate focus on results.
- Strong project management / time management skills.
- Solid leadership skills, able to motivate others to action.
- Experienced with facilitation, teaching, and coaching.
- Advanced office software and internet skills.
Compensation
- Beginning salary range : $55,000-60,000. Performance incentives available.
