Description

JOB SUMMARY :

To complete bench upholstery, sewing machine and upholstery cutting operations using a wide variety of upholstery materials and tools.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Works under general supervision to fabricate, cover and assemble flat and curved panels.Sew simple covers and curtains using design / engineering drawings and aircraft specifications.
• Work with fabric, vinyl and leather hides, composites and other materials using specified adhesives, sewing equipment, hardware, hand tools and various power tools.
• Fit panels and windows, cabin head liners, upper sidewalls, lower side panels, hatch panels, windows, cut and surge carpets, cover bulkheads and coverings.
• Uses a variety of hand and power tools / equipment and basic measuring instruments.
• Ability to read and write to interpret basic drawings. Ability to work from detailed instructions and minor decision making.
• Performs other related duties.

Qualifications

EDUCATION :

Must have a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification and Textron Aviation’s blueprint reading class preferred.

EXPERIENCE :

0-6 months experience in upholstery, bench upholstery, and / or mechanical experience.

WORKING CONDITIONS :

Somewhat disagreeable working conditions with exposure to dust, noise, heat, fumes and liquids.Safety shoes and protective clothing could be required.

This role is eligible for a $4,000 (pre-tax) sign-on bonus. Terms & conditions apply. The Company reserves the right to amend or suspend this program at any time.
