Blazer Jobs is actively seeking an experienced and dedicated Special Education Teacher for a full-time position within school districts in the Lansing, Michigan area.

Qualifications :
- Education : Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Certification : Valid Michigan Teaching Certification with an endorsement in Special Education.
- Skills : Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation, excellent communication and collaboration skills, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of each student.
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students with a range of disabilities.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and other professionals to ensure that students receive appropriate accommodations and modifications.
- Assess students progress regularly and adjust teaching strategies to meet individual learning goals.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding students progress and any concerns.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by local, state, and federal regulations.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education.
Local and State Requirements :
- Must hold a valid Michigan teaching certificate with a special education endorsement (e.g., Learning Disabilities, Emotional Impairments, Autism Spectrum Disorder).
- Completion of a state-approved teacher preparation program in special education.
- Compliance with all Michigan Department of Education certification requirements, including continuing education and professional development.
- Successful completion of a background check and fingerprinting as required by the state of Michigan.
