The Information Technology Group (ITG) Division of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) has an exciting opportunity for a Data Analyst II.

This position is based out of the NAIC's Kansas City, MO office. This is a full-time hybrid-remote position, in a positive and flexible environment.
Residency within 100 miles of the Kansas City, Missouri office is required, along with in-office work as scheduled.

Responsibilities :
- Supports the NAIC's efforts to leverage data to assist with decision-making, reporting, analytics, and business intelligence.
- Uses data visualization software to create and publish aesthetically pleasing and informational reports / dashboards for both internal and external parties.
- Assists with the transformation of data for analytics and business intelligence.
- Assists with data cleansing to ensure the quality of data.
- Analyzes complex data sources.
- Follows NAIC accepted guidelines on version control for all technical development.
- Troubleshoots and resolves data problems as assigned. This involves utilizing SQL and other tools to assist in data manipulation.
- Is customer focused and understands customers' business requirements. Evaluates the requirements and makes recommendations.
- Extracts, cleans, transforms, aggregates, interprets large quantities of raw data for reporting.
- Utilizes many (3+) technical tools in preparing datasets for analysis. Such tools may include SQL, SQL*Loader, Excel, Python, Informatica, Tableau, Hadoop, Java, various AWS cloud products, and more.
- Accurately completes source to target data mapping, verifying accuracy through automated scripts and manual testing.
- Works with customer technical and business staff to confirm data mapping.
Education and / or experience required :
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in a technology or business related field, and 3-5 years' experience.
- Advanced ability in SQL including experience with PL / SQL.
