Position Summary

The Premium Clubs and Bar Manager is responsible for the effective management of all Venue Concessions Bars & Premium Bar locations operations including inventory controls, product ordering, training new employees, cash controls, compliance with alcohol service polices, cleaning, safety, guest service, employee training and supervision, troubleshooting, closing duties, event planning support, and any other tasks assigned by the Senior Management Team.

The Premium Clubs and Bar Manager must provide a high level of event oversight, technical proficiency and operational / personnel support to ensure the smooth operation of the Arena in all Bar areas, must be willing to enforce all OVG personnel and operating policies and procedures and plans, organizes, and executes the service requirements of each event and determines all scheduling and product components required to properly service events within budgetary guidelines.

The Premium Clubs and Bar Manager will actively supervise, coach, counsel, direct, train and mentor employees in meeting company quality standards, and will / may initiate or recommend employment actions such as hiring, termination, suspension, discipline, promotion and transfer.

The Premium Clubs and Bar Manager will provide oversight and resolution responsibility for employee performance issues. Actively and independently manage all aspects of employee relations to ensure a positive, harmonious, enthusiastic, compliant and cooperative work environment.

The Premium Clubs and Bar Manager executes activities at the venue into a team effort that contributes to the success of all events.

This is a key position for the effective and profitable operation of the business. The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work a variable event-driven schedule which include evenings and weekends.

Open availability, professional presentation, outstanding interpersonal skills, self-direction and strong technical (computer and POS) aptitude required.

This role will pay a salary of $50,000 to $60,000.

The Bank of Oklahoma Center , also known as the BOK Center, is located downtown and serves as the premier sports and entertainment venue of the greater Tulsa region.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to state, federal and corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
  • Detect and act upon guest inebriation as trained, escalating to upper-management or security when needed.
  • Provides on-going training, development, mentoring and supervision of hourly employees. Responsible for completing documentation of employee performance and attendance issues in accordance with company policy and practice.
  • Assists in troubleshooting technical problems with Point-of-Sale Systems, from both a hardware and software perspective.
  • Generates employee schedules and verifies employee time for both Premium and Concessions Bar areas, as required.
  • Ensures staff are briefed on event requirements and assigned to a specific area prior to events.
  • Enforces all OVG and venue policies and procedures as they relate to guest satisfaction, quality standards, uniform policy, register transactions, operating procedures, and quality presentation.
  • Conducts a walk-through of all bar areas after completion of the event to ensure all areas are clean.
  • Assists in development of other business activities, community participation in appropriate groups and all other assignments as directed by the General Manager or Assistant General Manager.
  • Ensure proper set-up of all bar locations prior to doors. Set-up duties may include verifying opening inventory, assigning duties to bar employees, ensuring sanitation standards are met, verifying that each location is fully operational, ascertaining levels of food production in Premium Club areas based upon projected guest attendance has been met, assuring that the Stand Lead has followed proper procedures for distribution and handling of cash.
  • Provide a high level of oversight and operational expertise resulting in the smooth, efficient and profitable execution of events.
  • Ability to oversee a large volume of inventory, order products, and manage high volume sales.
  • Manage and run all venue concessions operations before, during and after the event. Duties include staff scheduling, employee check-in, equipment inspection, POS monitoring and troubleshooting, guest complaint resolution, training, food production, clean-up, post-event reconciliation and reporting, and any other duties as assigned by the Senior Management Team.
  • Training new & current employees with regarding to property procedure & best practices
  • Willing to cover / back-up any open position to assure location is fully operational and company standards pertaining to speed of service and guest satisfaction are met;

assist with Premium Services operations and event needs, as directed.

Ensure that all State / Federal, Oak View Group and BOK policies, procedures and practices are adhered to, including compliance with alcohol distribution / service and food handling / sanitation guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree ( or greater in Culinary Management, Business Management, or related field
  • 3-5 years’ experience in Restaurant Management, other Food & Beverage Management, or related experience.
  • Degree requirement may be substituted for four or more years’ experience in Restaurant Outlet Supervision, Food & Beverage Management or related position.
  • Solid working knowledge of computer applications : Microsoft office, POS systems, timekeeping system.
  • Experience training new employees and volunteers
  • Advanced knowledge of inventory procedures and controls
  • Experience ordering product for a high-volume venue or facility
  • Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests in a clear, professional and courteous manner which fosters a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment.
  • Ability to make sound business / operations decisions (. regarding employee placement, staffing adjustments, and / or respond to technical, product or equipment challenges during an event) quickly and under pressure.
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
  • Possess thorough working knowledge of all applicable sanitation requirements, food preparation guidelines, alcohol service policies, safety standards, etc.

  • Ability to calculate basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages) as they relate to POS cash / credit transactions, cash reconciliation and product inventory.
  • Ability to consistently adhere to the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, ethics and confidentiality.
  • Nationally recognized food service sanitation training course certification preferred
  • Nationally recognized alcohol service training course certification required

Computer Skills :

Proficient in Microsoft Office platforms as well as POS systems

Other Qualifications :

  • Serve Safe Manager Certification Required
  • Performing the duties of this position involves extensive and continuous standing and walking. Routine activities require the employee to be able to reach with hands and arms, sit, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.

The employee is frequently required to lift up to 75 pounds. The vision requirements include the ability to adjust focus, peripheral vision and close vision.
