Job Description
Skyworks Solutions seeks a highly skilled device modeling engineer who will play a key role in the development of Skyworks’ BAW technologies.
The typical modeling work will include development / automation / integration of Skyworks’ BAW resonator model incorporating the latest process technology.
He / she will work closely with international and multidisciplinary engineering teams across multiple locations and time zones.
Location : Irvine, CA
Key Responsibilities
- Focus on BAW technology research and development for next generation products.
- Define and implement modeling strategies and roadmaps for BAW filter design, simulation and verification.
- Construct physics-based device model in collaboration with other device modeling engineers.
- Perform and analyze data from both simulations and physical experiments.
- Integrate the model extraction flow from data collection to model implementation in PDK.
- Establish and enforce best practices and standards for model documentation, data management, and quality assurance.
- Explore the next generation model to advance simulation capabilities and generate intellectual property.
- Support design community on product development and troubleshooting of performance challenges.
- Organize various internal projects with functional staff responsibility as a project leader.
Required Skills
- Master's degree in engineering, physics, or related field. PhD degree is preferred.
- MS and 6 years RF device modeling (or related) experience
- Understanding in either semiconductors and / or acoustic devices.
- Deep knowledge in advanced non-linear models and simulation techniques for harmonics / IMD analysis.
- Circuit simulation skills utilizing Agilent ADS and 2.5 / 3D EM tools such as EMX and HFSS.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as python, C and MATLAB. Strong problem-solving skills, both technical and interpersonal.
- BAW / SAW filter circuit design background is a plus.
- Experience in ADS user compile model is a plus.

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $112,500 - $215,900 per year . Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
