Job Summary :
This position will provide an extensive array of independent and high-level professional and operational support to the administration, faculty, staff and students in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE).
This positon is responsible for processing graduate applications, executing student service activities, event management, and graduate program administration.
This position will work closely with department faculty to support the educational mission of the department, and will collaborate with the department program manager to support department initiatives and strategic planning.

Graduate Program
Administration 40%
Manage the graduate program application and admission process.
Track application materials; monitor the processing of applications, routing to Graduate Committee, generating admission letters, and communicating results to the Graduate School Admissions and International Admissions.
Collaborate with the Admissions and Enrollment Director in the dean's office to obtain application materials; compile and analyze data from applications, as requested;
work with the Office of Institutional Research and Graduate Education to obtain data needed for various reports and analyses.
Work with the department's graduate committee to coordinate the administration of the department's MS and PhD programs.
Develop and maintain appropriate reports, forms and administrative documents for accurate record keeping.
Gather, compile, and enter data, producing routine and specialized reports and documents; maintain files, records, logs, and other tracking systems.
Review and submit computer science graduate faculty appointments to Graduate Education.

Assist with development of accreditation reports.
Graduate Advising 20%
Develop and implement advising strategies and interventions to improve the performance and persistence of students and support the graduate education mission of their unit more broadly by supporting the faculty who oversee the department's graduate programs.
Informs and advises students of degree requirements and advises on degree progression.
Assists students and faculty with navigating systems, academic processes, and policies at CU Denver.
Graduate Program Student Services :
Plan and implement graduate orientations, welcome events and student events.
Educate, counsel, and advise graduate students regarding the University of Colorado's academic programs, admission requirements, policies, and procedures.
Serve as a resource concerning academic policies, processes, and procedures. This includes advising graduate students of their rights and responsibilities;
directing them regarding Federal (FERPA, ADA), State (College Opportunity Fund), and institutional regulations and guidelines to ensure compliance.
Assist with resolution of registration issues including proper procedures for schedule adjustment forms, special processing forms, and change of record forms.
Prepare files for graduation and assist the department chair with graduation audits.
Process tuition stipends for students.
Graduate Admissions and Outreach : 20%
Oversee the graduate program application and admission process.
Track student applications in Slate for completeness and monitor the processing of applications.
Route applications to the Graduate Committee; generate decision letters; and communicate results to the CEDC Graduate Admissions Specialist and the Graduate School.
Stay abreast of changing curricula, rules and policies at the department / program, college, and university levels.
Serve as the communication hub of the department by integrating and disseminating information from Graduate Education to administration, faculty, staff and students.
Develops and executes marketing and recruiting strategies in collaboration with the Graduate Committee, department manager and dean's office.
The above is not an exhaustive list and the coordinator will be expected to perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications you already possess (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, education, psychology, counseling, a STEM field or other relevant field.
One (1) year experience in admissions, recruitment or a customer service environment.
Proficiency in MS Office.
Substitution : A combination of education and related technical / paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualification to possess (Preferred Qualifications)
Experience coordinating day-to-day business and administrative operations of an organization.
Experience working with faculty, staff, and students in a higher education environment.
Experience working with CU Data, CU Marketplace, PeopleSoft, Navigate and Concur or similar systems and software.
Experience in event planning and execution.
Professional-level customer service experience.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range ( or hiring range ) for this position has been established at $56,657 - $61,000.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
The above salary range ( or hiring range ) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.
