Our client, a distinguished leader in the construction industry known for delivering exceptional industrial and commercial projects, is seeking an experienced Electrical Designer to join their expanding team.

The role requires the ability to independently manage all phases of design documentation, including Schematic Design (SD), Design Development (DD), Construction Documentation (CD), and Construction Administration (CA).

Strong communication skills are crucial for liaising with both internal teams and external clients to ensure project goals are met effectively.

Focus :

• Creating accurate 2D and 3D drawings / models using industry-standard software.
• Developing electrical specifications in alignment with project requirements.
• Proactively identifying and resolving design challenges, with support from senior team members.
• Transforming initial concepts into detailed schematic designs with guidance from team leads.
• Conducting site visits to gather information and engage with clients on new and ongoing projects; occasional travel is required.
• Performing building code analysis to ensure compliance and assist in finalizing project layouts.
• Exploring and developing alternative design options.
• Assessing client needs, building codes, and regulations to formulate design recommendations.
• Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to coordinate all aspects of the project, utilizing both in-house and external resources.
• Producing detailed models, drawings, and specifications for electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and low voltage systems.
• Working closely with the Electrical Engineer of Record to refine and complete production drawings.

Skill Set :

• High School Diploma required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in electrical design or a related field.
• Experience with various electrical systems, including power distribution and lighting, is highly desirable.
• Advanced skills in Revit and proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• A degree in drafting / design or electrical engineering will be considered as an alternative to direct experience.
• Previous design experience in sectors such as food and beverage, cold storage, or warehousing is preferred.
