Our client is a local firm with over 50 years of experience providing their clients with cost-effective quality legal services.
They have maintained a strong and active presence in the Bay Area supporting local charities and community service organizations.
A salary of up to 85K will be paid for a Legal Administrative Assistant who will provide a mix of administrative support to the attorneys and staff.
Qualifications :
- Minimum of two years of legal support experience in litigation.
- Two-year degree or equivalent experience considered.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Outlook required.
- Experience filing legal documents in state, federal and appellate courts, using electronic filing
- Basic knowledge of state, federal and appellate court rules
- Ability to clearly and effectively communicate, in oral and written form, with individuals at all levels within the Firm and outside the Firm.
- Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Must have the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment using good judgment.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform responsibilities with tact, diplomacy, discretion and respect for confidentiality and diversity.
- Experience working with document databases : iManage
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Supporting a team of litigation attorneys
- Preparing, editing and proofreading legal documents and court forms, including preparing tables of contents and tables of authorities.
- Filing / submitting documents to state, federal and appellate courts, using electronic filing
- Preparing client and vendor correspondence
- Scheduling and calendaring depositions, mediations and court appearances
- Assist with processing reimbursements and client / vendor invoices
- Research and respond to inquiries regarding billing issues and problems
- Other administrative functions as assigned.
