POSITION SUMMARY :
The Vice President of Corporate Operations is responsible for driving results, building physician partnerships, setting regional growth strategies, and managing the clinical, financial, and operational performance.
This role will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer.
Work Schedule : Our VP of Operations role is offered on a remote-centric hybrid basis, with up to 20% travel required between visiting our ASC sites across the country when needed and attending monthly meetings in our Nashville headquarters.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES :
Strategy and Growth
- Identify and drive new opportunities with communities and payers to drive short-term and long-term growth within centers, service lines, and partnerships.
- Communicate, implement, and drive regional and corporate initiatives and strategies.
- Identify alignment across regional geographies to find ways to optimize through economies of scale.
- Support the development and execution of training and education materials for operations and corporate leaders.
- Provide support as needed with acquisition due diligence efforts for new center opportunities.
Operational Management
- Foster a company culture in line with organizational values.
- Drive operational excellence across the portfolio.
- Share oversight in ASC governance (e.g., board meetings) for reliable decision-making.
- Support highly complex or strategic center operations where needs are most acute.
- Coordinate with Senior Clinical Directors, Directors of Client Performance, and their teams as needed.
- Serve as a conduit between the corporate office and center field teams to communicate center performance and flag resource needs.
- Promote, influence, and oversee the adoption of new strategic initiatives.
- As needed, lead and facilitate Partnership Planning / Board Meetings as Board Chair, providing AMSURG advocacy updates in addition to center performance, physician partnership relations, and operational developments.
- Lead and / or support the execution of Physician Advisory Board meetings and related initiatives.
- Oversight of the following areas, with support from AMSURG resource teams : QualityRisk ManagementRegulatory Compliance
- Drive all agreements to execution, including : Legal agreementsAncillary agreementsHR / Management agreementsEmployee leasing agreementsLeases
- Collaboratively assess crisis situations and leverage AMSURG resources in their resolution; develop and communicate plans of action and implement plans to mitigate root causes in future situations.
Customer Relationship Management
- Represent the organization and build successful relationships with customers, shareholders, and business
- Support key physician group, health system partnerships, and PE relationship(s) while partnering with operational leaders to develop and execute highly complex account management strategies.
- Develop a strong clinician value proposition.
Financial Management
- Accountable for financial performance and P&L ownership.
- Support capital requests, develop the budget, and management processes for capital budget.
- Analyze finances and expenses to manage performance to budget, and control costs.
- Develop and maintain an understanding of financial reporting and operations, including presentations and communications with customers, shareholders, and business
- Accountable for financial questions and related follow-ups, i.e., taxes, Monthly Operating Reviews (MORs), financial forecasts, budget, etc.
- Support capital purchasing and develop proformas for procurement process.
- Lead team in cost savings initiatives.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including Information Security Policies and ensure that AMSURG remains as secure as possible.
Data Architecture
Proficiency working with data architecture in collaboration with IT and FP&A leadership, to support the buildout and management of key data and reports.

Education / Experience
Bachelor’s Degree and / or Master’s Degree from an accredited College or University in business, healthcare administration, or relevant field;
equivalent work experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience as described.
- Experience with budget management.
- Excellent reporting skills and presentation building skills.
- Experience with data architecture concepts and terminology, i.e., the buildout and management of key data metrics and reports.
- Acute understanding of healthcare trends and their relationship to Ambulatory Care is preferred.
