THE JOB :
The primary responsibility of the Sushi Cook at Yellowtail is to expertly prepare and present high-quality sushi, ensuring each plate meets the exceptional standards set by Michelin-starred Chef Akira Back.
You will report to the Sous Chef and Executive Chef, while working with the kitchen team in maintaining a clean, organized workstation and delivering an unforgettable dining experience.
THE STARTING RATE : $24.9379 Per Hour
THE DAY-TO-DAY :
Prepare high-quality sushi, adhering to strict quality standards
Apply advance knife skills required for making sushi and other Japanese dishes
Maintain menu knowledge and attention to detail of plate presentation
Set-up workstation based on pars established by Chef, Executive Sous Chef and Sous Chef, follow station set-up sheet, and operate sushi station
Maintain a clean and organized workstation while butchering fish and prepping ingredients
Evaluate flavors and appearance of dishes to ensure top-notch quality
Follow health and safety protocols, ensuring proper food storage and serving temperatures
Collaborate with kitchen staff in a fast-paced environment
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE :
Must currently hold or be able to obtain both a Food Handler's card
Must be able to work various shifts, including weekends and all holidays
1+ years' experience in seafood preparation and line cooking
2+ years' experience in the food and beverage industry
Proven success in high-volume kitchens, showcasing strong organizational skills
Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration
