Job Overview :
Plans, organizes, directs, coordinates and controls the operations of the Engineering, Maintenance, Security, Grounds, EOC and EM departments / areas.
Complete all duties and functions of the hospital Safety Officer. Maintains compliance with applicable regulatory agency requirements, including;
The Joint Commission (TJC), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), State and Local agencies, The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), etc.
Manages staff and contractors to adequately to ensure and maintain the efficient and safe operation of all hospital buildings.
Plans, predicts, maintains and repairs building and equipment. Utilizes energy management and tracking tools in order to maintain efficient utility operations.
Develops and manages operating and capital budgets. Demonstrates Service Excellence at all times. Other duties as assigned.
General Responsibilities :

Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of years Directing / managing multiple departments with extensive experience in the Engineering / Maintenance field.
- Broad knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, electrical repairs and systems, utilities, grounds care and total building systems associated with the health care industry.
- Must possess the ability to ready, analyze and interpret scientific, technical and mechanical schematics / blueprints.
Knowledge of Security departments and overall procedural functions.
Broad knowledge of safety and at least 7 years of serving as a Safety Officer in a healthcare setting.
Ability to evaluate facility problems and perform necessary repairs if needed.
- Receives and evaluates safety deficiencies problems and failures.
- Knowledge of all fire protection codes and all accrediting agencies, JCAHO, AHCA, State & Local.
- Broad knowledge of Emergency Management and overall procedural functions.
