Safety Manager Job Description : The Safety Manager will provide daily safety inspections of field projects. It is their primary responsibility to ensure compliance with company and regulatory regulations.
The ideal candidate is technically strong with applicable OSHA and State level regulations, interpreting them, and successfully implementing them on their defined projects.
They must also be able to interact with tradesmen through all levels of management effectively. The Safety Manager reports directly to the General Superintendent and will work with all departments throughout the firm.
Duties & Responsibilities : *May perform other duties as assigned. Preconstruction Participate in pre-construction safety meetings on all projects Develop site-specific safety program(s) with the project team Perform both 10 and 30hr training sessions Construction Implement the site-specific safety program(s) with the project team Participate in weekly project safety meetings Assist the subcontractors to ensure they are performing their work in a safe manner Write safety inspection reports and weekly summary reports for management Provide periodic safety training in the field based on project needs Closeout Performs record keeping and auditing functions regarding key company safety metrics Develop and implement lessons learned and programs, beyond the overall project safety program, that benefit the safety, health and wellbeing of workers Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree in Safety related field or construction work experience 3+ years of safety related experience Leadership and management skills Knowledge of Procore OSHA 30 hour certified First Aid / CPR / BBP and AED training within the first 6 months of the appointment to the position About Janey : Founded in 1984, Janey Construction Management provides professional services throughout the Northeast, bringing our solid reputation for quality to each new endeavor.
