We are looking to hire a line cook who is willing to learn what we do here in our kitchen and is reliable and hard-working.
Backstory Tavern is a family-owned business that has been in Bucktown since 1934. Our employees are family also and we would love for you to join.
As a line cook, you will be cooking all the food that we serve daily. We are looking for Part-time or Full-time, generally from 3 pm - 11 pm.
Pay is based on experience but we are willing to teach you if you are willing to learn.
You will be the king of your castle as the only cook in the kitchen.

- Prepare dishes that have been ordered by a server
- Responsible for prepping food, sauces, and meats.
English & Spanish preferred
- Must be able to work in a team setting and be a team player with a positive attitude
- Must be able to work in an organized & clean environment
- Responsible for opening and closing the kitchen
- Cleanliness is key
- Must be able to take direction and ask for help if necessary
- Must be open-minded to new ideas
- Perform other duties as assigned if the need arises
- Must have Food Handlers Certificate
- 2+ years of experience preferred
