Sentara Halifax Hospital is hiring a Medical Laboratory Scientist / Technician to work a 14-week assignment in the clinical lab!

• Temporary Full Time, 14-week assignment
• Evening Shift : 2 : 30-11 : 00pm, Rotating weekends and holidays
• $48 / hr (MLT / MT) and $45 / hr (MLT)
• ASCP or AMT certification required
• No benefits

Minimum Requirements :

• AMT Medical Technologist (MT / MLT) or ASCP Technologist (MLS)
• Medical Laboratory Scientist : Bachelor's Degree
• Medical Laboratory Technician : Associate's Degree

Job Summary

Performs laboratory tests; interprets test results; documents and reports test results; maintains equipment, instruments, and tools.

Associates degree from an accredited institution required. ASCP or AMT certification required. Candidate with the required education / experience and are eligible for the examination have within one year from date of hire to obtain certification.

As a new graduate from an accredited institution, certification must be acquired within one year from date of hire. Certification must remain current for continued employment.
