Job Description

IFF in Pryor, OK (formerly DuPont Nutrition & Biosciences) is seeking an Industrial HVAC Technician to join our Maintenance team!

The HVAC Technician is a Maintenance Worker specializing in air conditioning systems, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the effective functioning of air conditioning units, chillers, water-cooling systems, and refrigerators within our facilities.

Your responsibilities will include installation, maintenance, repair, and service of HVAC equipment. You'll diagnose and troubleshoot issues, estimate material and labor costs, and adhere to building codes and guidelines.

The HVAC Technician will also be responsible for providing mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, HVAC, on plant equipment and general maintenance on other plant equipment as required.

This position will also have overtime / on-call work as needed.

Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

• Install, maintain, and repair air conditioning systems and related equipment.
• Regularly inspect installations to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
• Use specialized tools and diagnostic equipment for testing and repairs.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults in HVAC systems.
• Clean, adjust, and repair systems as needed.
• Lubricates gearboxes, pumps, bearings and other equipment in order to prolong life and keep them operating safely and efficiently.
• Inspects, removes and replaces bearings on equipment in order to restore to operation.
• Adjust tension or changes belts on equipment so that equipment works at maximum efficiency.
• Address emergency repairs efficiently.
• Be on-call after work hours for urgent assignments.
• Complete work orders according to industry standards.
• Prepare reports on work activities for management.
• Actively participate in and accept all Safety, Health and Environmental responsibilities.
• Work with peers in a team-oriented environment

Job Requirements :

• High School Diploma / GED
• 3+ years of experience in an industrial mechanic, Journeyman, or related role OR completion of an Apprenticeship Program or Associates of Applied Science Technology degree in HVAC, electrical, or instrumentation.
• Relevant certification or vocational training in HVAC systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• The ability to follow safe work practices
• The ability to read / understand loop and P&ID drawings
• The ability to document technical work that is performed
• The ability to read / understand equipment manuals and mechanical drawings
• The ability to troubleshoot techniques from simple to complex problems in the manufacturing environment
• Willing and able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including the use of a SCBA, as required
