Location : Washington, DC (Hybrid)

Description :

As a Senior Privacy Act (PA) / Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Analyst in the Discovery and Disclosure group, in the role of a Senior PA / FOIA Analyst, you will assist a federal agency with responding to PA / FOIA requests.

Primary Job Duties / Tasks :

  • Utilize the PA / FOIA processing system to complete all tasks necessary to verify, perfect, review, and respond to PA / FOIA requests;
  • Oversee and quality control PA / FOIA processing by Junior PA / FOIA analysts;
  • Provide training and feedback to Junior PA / FOIA analyst teams on redactions;
  • Oversee and report on progress metrics;
  • Receive, review and analyze new PA / FOIA requests and determine if they are sufficient to process based on the FOIA and / or PA;
  • Conduct record searches and apply lawful exemptions and redactions;
  • Release responsive records to requesters within prescribed timeframes;
  • Provide information on PA / FOIA, and client PA / FOIA procedures and processes to employees and FOIA requesters;
  • Assist PA / FOIA specialists in implementing privacy policies and procedures;
  • Process complex PA / FOIA requests by applying lawful exemptions and redacting responsive records in compliance with PA / FOIA policy and established program procedures and practices;
  • Prepare correspondence with requestors and prepare the final document packages.
  • Release redacted responsive records to the requester, researching and analyzing sensitive classified and controversial data in order to make pertinent FOIA determinations, and evaluating various correspondence and reports to determine FOIA applicability and associated polices.
  • Track and manage FOIA requests from receipt to production in an electronic case management system.
  • Work independently and be accustomed to effectively and efficiently working at a high-performance level with minimal input from program leadership.
  • Support Implementation and Operations Management best practices
  • Perform analysis and diagnosis of client issues
  • Demonstrate a foundational understanding of the client environment and overall project scope
  • Identify and solve problems using analysis, experience, and judgment
  • Work as part of a team and in a team environment that is process-oriented and deadline-driven
  • Use professional oral and written communication skills

Required :

  • Ability to maintain the required clearance for this role
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
  • Experience processing FOIA / PA requests or litigation-related document review requests either at the federal service or equivalent public or private sector
  • Familiar with the nine () FOIA exemptions and the nine () PA exemptions
  • Experience / familiarity with following FOIA and PA tools :
  • SecureRelease
  • Adobe Pro
  • FOIAXpress
  • FOIAonline
  • Relativity
  • Experience using the following Microsoft Office Suite applications :
  • Access
  • Excel
  • Outlook
  • PowerPoint
  • SharePoint
  • Word
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the required Public Trust tier IV high risk background investigation security clearance for this role.

Education :

  • High School minimum, Bachelor Degree preferred.
