As a Supply Chain Performance Manager in Caterpillar's Building Construction Products (BCP) division, you will lead a global team of supply chain professionals that collaborate with suppliers and supply management functional areas to improve supplier capability, quality, and delivery performance.

What You Will Do :

Manage the daily work and strategic direction of a global team of supply chain performance engineers that collaborate with suppliers and supply management functional areas to verify and improve supplier capability, quality, and delivery performance to Caterpillar production and aftermarket facilities.

Lead capacity collaboration efforts with suppliers to ensure they have adequate resources, including people, training materials, tooling, fixtures, and equipment, and provide technical support during start-up activities and changes in production and aftermarket volume.

Sponsor efforts at suppliers to perform supplier value stream mapping, material flow improvements and preparation to improve supplier efficiencies and delivery performance;

as well as Build-In-Quality (BIQ) initiatives to improve supplier quality performance.

Lead supplier management governance process to drive supplier shipping performance and quality improvement.

Provide leadership and collaboration with suppliers, category management, and multiple facility functions to address and resolve supplier issues using root cause and corrective action (RCCA).

Integrate efforts with facility supply chain planning, facility procurement, operations, global transportation, and corporate supply management groups to deploy supplier development, performance, and capacity collaboration tools.

Hire and develop talent to help Caterpillar achieve desired results.

Provide leadership, coaching, focus, motivation, and encouragement to direct reports, to improve employee engagement and results.

In this role, you will showcase :

Your extensive use of Effectiveness Measurement techniques and tools to measure the quality and quantity of supplier’s capabilities and capacity for improvement.

Your abilities in Tactical and Strategic Planning , leverage effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of supply chain related operational objectives.

Your understanding of Project Administration best practices and your ability to use organizational strategies, practices, and tools for administering supplier improvement projects.

Your extensive Supply Chain Management knowledge of strategies and tools for controlling and optimizing the factors that lie between the purchase of raw materials, components and supplies, and delivery of finished products.

Your understanding of Supplier Evaluations & Certification demonstrated by your ability to develop and use strategies, practices, and tools for evaluating, selecting, and certifying suppliers.

Top candidates will also have :

College degree or equivalent experience in supply chain management.

Strong understanding and previous experience using common supply chain principles (material replenishment tools and processes, supply chain planning analytical tools, material flow, ERP parameters, and throughput efficiency).

Experience collaborating with suppliers to improve material flow, operation efficiencies, quality and on time delivery.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer service focus.

Previous management experience of a team with a history of strong employee motivation.

APICS CPIM or CSPC National Certification (highly desired)

Experience in deploying lean principals, six sigma, and value stream mapping.

Strong knowledge of Caterpillar products and supply base.

The primary location for this position is Cary, NC. May also be located in Clayton, NC; Sanford, NC; Athens, GA; Desford, UK

At least 30% domestic and international travel to visit suppliers is expected.
