Current Need
McKesson has a unique need for an advanced level Systems Engineer with proven technical & problem-solving abilities who can drive or jump in with other teams and make an immediate impact towards providing resolutions and solutions for unusually complex technical challenges and opportunities related to automation systems & components that drive the material handling systems in a 440,000 ft2, new generation automated distribution facility located in Central Ohio.

Position Description
Essential Performance Goals & Objectives for first 6-12 months
Be actively engaged in the implementation & testing of various integrated systems in the new generation DC (Distribution Center) prior to go-live and able to observe, train & learn for application during this opportune time.
Establish and grow key relationships with stakeholders & 3rd parties while helping establish support & communication norms that functions within the enterprise framework of Operational Excellence.
Consistently perform and refine system health checks which include walking, standing, and climbing stairs to perform physical observations of conveyor flow & systems status.
Complete, assigned projects and tasks, support calls, troubleshooting problems, end user engagement, vendor engagement, virtual and face-to-face meetings, status updates and individual development.
Transition from a Monday to Friday 9am-5pm shift to Sunday to Thursday 4pm -1am shift after DC opens.
Areas of responsibility & routine duties inclusive of :
Problem Ownership & On-Call
Compulsive and obsessive with preventing incidents and outages
Facilitate the critical incident management / SEV1 process when outages occur
Conduct & communicate in-depth root cause analysis aimed to prevent reoccurrences
Communicate problem status efficiently & effectively both orally and in writing with various levels internal and external (VPDO (Vice President Distribution Operations), 3rd Parties, SMEs, warehouse staff and supervisors).
Leverage an intense attention to detail and the ability to isolate and identify small / subtle variances from normal function to resolve issues.
Observe, gather details, and make information visible so poorly performing automation system functions can be refined and optimized.
Ultimately participate in an on-call rotation
Infrastructure, Systems, Applications, Databases
Experience with warehouse control systems, material handling systems, automated picking machines and equipment
Demonstrated mid to high-level understanding of Windows server and desktop OSes & Active Directory
Solid understanding of relational databases, connectivity protocols, and query languages
Working knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and tools such as OSI Model,TCP / IP DNS, DHCP, HTTP, Wireshark, VLANs, routing, switching, firewalling
Experience with hypervisor (vSphere / Hyper-V) administration and support of VM's.
Work with vulnerability mitigation and remediation across multiple operating systems (Windows / Linux / VMware)
Knowledge of Linux operating systems.
Knowledge of cyber security threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation tactics
Ability to explain complex IT concepts in simple terms
Lift, unbox, rack servers, mount PCs and peripherals, perform cable management
Mechanical, Electrical, Conveyor & Control Systems
Gain the respect of a highly technical facilities engineering team through your technical knowledge and ability to learn fast
Applicable knowledge of PLC components, I / O Control, and networking of industrial devices
Solid understanding of electrical (low & high voltage) principles

Minimum Requirements
Typically has 7+ years relevant experience
Critical Skills
Expertise in one or more areas of IT such as Microsoft Windows administration, virtual computing administration, or networking administration
Advanced knowledge of Active Directory
Experience with setup and configuration of server and desktop hardware
Efficient and effective troubleshooting skills in a high-pressure environment
Ability to perform detailed root cause analysis
Understanding of networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, HTTP, OSI Model, TCP / IP protocols and client-server applications
Strong troubleshooting skills of integrated multi-tiered systems and applications
Solid understanding of relational databases and DB connectivity protocols
Proven skills in PC repair, troubleshooting, deployment, and decommissioning
Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical principles
Proven ability to work successfully with limited supervision
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (in person and via phone / radio) with peers, internal customers, management, contractors, and vendors.

4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
