Job Description
- Leads the team and organization on how to use Agile / Scrum practices and values to deliver business value.
- May guide multiple Scrum teams on how to get the most out of self-organization.
- Assesses the Scrum Maturity of the team and organization. Coaches the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization.
- Leads with removing impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments by developing solutions with the team.
- Builds a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without repercussions with an emphasis on healing and problem solving.
- Facilitates project completion without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work.
- Facilitates team discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution.
- Assists with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and providing information.
- Provides support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible, and leading by example.
- Ensures milestones are reached and deadlines are met throughout project lifecycle.
- Builds strong relationships with stakeholders, application users, and program owners
- Documents progress and communicates to upper management and stakeholders
- Takes responsibility for successful product delivery.
- Mentors and trains Scrum Master Coordinator 1, and Scrum Master Coordinator 2 positions.
- Other tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED :
- Bachelor’s Degree or 6 years of professional experience in lieu of degree.
- Professional experience leading a team within a SDLC project environment.
- Professional experience with presenting complex information in a group setting.
- Professional experience in Scrum Master role for 1 year.
- First Level Scrum Master certification
- Excellent analytical skills, effective organizational and time management skills.
- Great attention to detail and follow up.
- Ability to manage projects, assignments, and competing priorities.
DESIRED :
- Advanced degree.
- Three years of professional experience in other Agile approaches : SAFe, XP, Kanban, etc.
- Three years of professional experience in the Scrum Master role for a team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory.
- Two years of professional experience working with various patterns and techniques for the Scrum approach (Burndown technologies, Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc.).
- Third Level Scrum Master certification (CSP-SM, PSM III).
