Job Title : Material Handler (50M)
Location : Port Angeles, Washington

Shift Times : Start : 7 : 00am / End : 3 : 45pm

Summary :

The Material Handler supports the production floor by performing a variety of duties. They will be supportive to the needs of the production staff and assist in ensuring a timely and efficient delivery of materials and services.

Essential Job Functions :

Receive incoming goods and verify acceptable quality.
Match quantities received with packing lists and purchase orders.
Enter information on goods received into M2M and notify appropriate parties of discrepancies or other issues.
Store received goods in assigned areas.
Retrieve and issue inventory to production as scheduled or required.
Perform cycle counts as necessary to maintain accurate inventories.
Notify Purchasing when reorder points are reached.
Handle hazardous materials per OSHA / WPSY requirements.
Safely move materials and equipment utilizing supplied assistive equipment.
Move materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Requirements :

A valid Washington state drivers license.
Basic math, reading and communication skills.
Ability to follow verbal, written and pictorial instructions.
Ability to function as a part of an effective team.
Ability to be certified to operate a forklift.

Additional Job Functions :

Work effectively as a part of a team providing high quality customer service.
Maintain and participates in keeping personal work area, shop and tools clean and safe.
Must maintain an excellent attendance record following all company policies and procedures in the Employee Handbook and safety rules.
Will be expected to work overtime and flexible hours as needed to meet production schedules and departmental needs.

Other Preferred Skills / Abilities :

Prior experience in material handling environment.
Prior experience tracking and maintaining supply usages.
Knowledge of construction tools and supplies (i.e. hand tools, plumbing / electrical supplies, etc.)
Ability to safely operate forklifts and pallet jacks.
Prior hazardous materials and / or waste handling.

Safety Requirements :

Must be willing to work in a dusty environment.
Must be willing to work in an environment with chemical odors.
Must be able to physically go up and down stairs, obtain product off high / low shelves, open boxes, etc.
Working Conditions : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel;

and reach with hands and arms, to stand, walk and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, push or pull and lift up to 50 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The work environment is a production floor setting and is usually noisy and dusty. It does not always maintain a consistent temperature but is dry.

Noise levels are moderate to high with some chemical odors present. When on the production floor, PPE is required where noted.
