Position Title : Ambulance Driver

Location : Nashville Metro Area

Pay : $17 / hr

The opportunity :

Ambulance Drivers assist with loading and unloading patients in a safe manner while adhering to patient care protocols and documenting appropriately.

Ambulance Drivers accompany EMTs and Paramedics on emergency and scheduled calls. MUST OBTAIN EMTB CERTIFICATION WITHIN 1 YEAR OF HIRE.

MUST BE 21 YEARS AGE OR OLDER.

Ambulance Driver Responsibilities :

• Complete mechanical checklist prior to each shift to ensure ambulance is in working order and report any mechanical issues to service personnel
• Ensure ambulance is clean and stocked with first aid and medical supplies prior to and throughout each shift
• Follow patient transport assignments and operate the ambulance with patients, patient escorts and medical personnel aboard
• Assist partner and other medical personnel with loading and unloading patients in and out of the ambulance
• Upon arrival to designated patient facilities, unload the patient out of the ambulance and transport the patient as directed by medical personnel
• Accompany EMTs and paramedics on emergency calls and transport patients to hospitals as needed
• Report all accidents and injuries to Dispatch, medical personnel and / or law enforcement
• Complete trip sheets as required by employer

Ambulance Driver Requirements :

• MUST OBTAIN EMTB CERTIFICATION WITHIN 1 YEAR OF HIRE.
• MUST BE 21 YEARS AGE OR OLDER.
• High school diploma or equivalent
• CPR certification
• Valid driver’s license with F endorsement
• Willingness to participate in on-the-job training
• Knowledge of radio operations

Preferred :

Previous experience with gurneys, hydraulic and wheelchair lifts
