Part-time Grants Manager

Job Summary
The part-time Grants Manager is a member of the Development team and will play a crucial role in securing funding opportunities to support the mission and programs of TransLash.
Working closely with the CEO and Development Department, the Grants Manager will be responsible for researching, identifying, and applying for grants from various foundations as well as helping to maintain and grow funder relationships.
This position requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent writing skills, strong project management abilities, and a passion for mobilizing resources toward a cause that directly impacts trans people around the world.
Roles and Responsibilities :
- Conduct thorough research to identify potential grant opportunities that align with the goals and priorities of TransLash;
- Draft, iterate, and finalize writing for grant applications, proposals, and reports and package them appropriately for submission to funders and partners;
- Write compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and grant reports tailored to the specific requirements of each funding opportunity;
- Support TransLash in tracking grants, grant reports and deadlines as well as grant research and identifying new prospective funders;
- Collaborate with program staff to gather necessary data, statistics, and narratives to support grant applications;
- Help TransLash keep all grant related materials filed and organized in an easily accessible way;
Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with funders, ensuring timely acknowledgment of grants and compliance with reporting requirements.
- Provide support in communications with funders and as a secondary point of contact;
- Work directly with the CEO;
- Support the TransLash Donor Circle by noting and tracking commitments;
- Work with the Director of Finance to ensure accurate revenue projections based upon grant flow;
Assist in the development of fundraising materials, such as case statements, donor appeals, and stewardship materials, etc.
Education and Experience :
Proven experience in grant writing, with a track record of successful grant awards in the nonprofit sector.
Required Skills / Abilities :
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, persuasive, and compelling narratives;
- Strong research skills, with the ability to gather and synthesize information from diverse sources;
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously;
- Proficiency in Google Suite. Experience with grant management software (platforms like Fluxx) is a plus;
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment;

Technology Proficiency : Proficiency in Google Drive, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and grant management software is a plus, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technology platforms as needed.
Physical Requirements :
Remaining in a stationary position, often sitting or standing for prolonged periods
Prolonged periods working on a computer
Communicating with others to exchange information
Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and / or fingers
Must be able to lift 15 pounds at a time.
Compensation : $37 per hour plus benefits. Part-time employees regularly working 20 hours per week or more are eligible for benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance;
paid time off; and sick leave.
