Position Overview :
The Construction Manageroversees and coordinates the planning, designing, budgeting, construction, remodeling and delivering Caribou stores within assigned markets or regions.
To be successful in this role, this individual recognizes their importance to delivering successful execution and delivery of the new store openings and major remodels, by way of delivering on time, on budget and adhering to the brand standards and objectives.
DOING What you deliver Core Responsibilities
New Store Project Management
General Contractor search and selection.
General Contract bidding, negotiating, and executing.
Contract management and administration.
Control and management of project scheduling.
Effective schedule communication to internal and external sources.
Manage Landlord relationship prior and for the duration of the construction process.
Budget Management
Produce preliminary budgets upon request from Real Estate Managers.
Produce and signoff on store investment budget prior to senior management submittal.
Manage budgets to assure project costs are below approved project budgets.
New Store and Concept Design Management
Be a catalyst to the further development and execution of the store concept.
Identify / test new materials and designs in an effort to decrease store development costs.
Participate in cost engineering studies to reduce the cost of store buildouts.
Due Diligence, Feasibility, Real Estate
Provide site review and physical feasibility support to Real Estate Managers.
Point of responsibility for all permits : signage, municipal, building health, etc.
Review all landlord / tenant work letters prior to execution.
Remodels, Franchise, Operations Support
Manage major store remodeling projects and other initiatives.
Assist in development and execution of store remodeling programs.
Provide regular site visits to evaluate construction progress and status and answer any questions for Franchise partners within assigned markets or regions.
Act as a resource to store operations and facilities management to assist in store repair and maintenance needs.
Management and Administrative
Assist in developing and implementing store development programs and procedures.
Assist in educating new Real Estate Managers for landlord / tenant work letter requirements.

Qualifications : Required :
Required :
Undergraduate degree in Business, Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management.
5+ years of project management experience working for a combination of general contractors, developers, and retailers.
Physical Requirements :
The physical requirements for this position include sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and moving intermittently during working hours.
