The Wharton AI & Analytics Initiative (WAIAI) is a strategic investment by the Wharton School to expand its research and teaching capabilities in artificial intelligence and data science.

It includes curricular enhancements, new research investments, industry-academia collaboration, and AI resources for a broader learning community.

The Events and Marketing Coordinator will work closely with the Associate Director of Strategic Planning and Events Lead and the Director of Marketing and Communications, supporting event registration, logistics and marketing needs for the Wharton AI & Analytics Initiative (WAIAI) and its affiliated centers.

Job Responsibilities

Supports and implements the logistics for WAIAI’s portfolio of in-person, virtual, and hybrid events, including but not limited to technical workshops, student co-curricular programming, annual conferences, and webinars.

Streamline event marketing and registration processes using technology platforms. Serves as the event management platform resident expert, building and managing event registration for flagship events, establishing event registration templates, and training WAIAI staff.

Under the guidance of the Director of Marketing and Communications, leads execution of event marketing, utilizing email, social media, and web channels.

Communicates event marketing deadlines, expectations, and needs with stakeholders.

Fosters relationships with student boards and clubs to develop and execute grassroot marketing efforts for student events and programs.

Analyzes data and reports to the Associate Director of Strategic Planning and Events Lead to help develop strategies, initiatives, and processes for event marketing and technology management.

Support event infrastructure such as event space management, calendars and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2-3 years of experience required. The ideal candidate will have event experience and a marketing and communications background;
  • strong interpersonal skills and ability to work on a team; excellent communication skills (speaking, writing, and listening);

flexibility and creative problem solving; the ability to work independently.

Salary offers are made based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
