Performs high quality and accurate diagnostic imaging in accordance with established protocols. Interacts with patients, physicians, and staff in a professional and courteous manner.
Assists in maintaining imaging systems in optimum working condition. Applies knowledge of radiation protection, emergency protocols and procedures and proper equipment to maximize safety in the work environment.
Exciting opportunity for a Radiology Technologist (RT) to join the cardiac catheterization and interventional radiology labs.
Responsibilities may include : preparing procedure rooms, prepping patients for procedures, obtaining and recording patient information, scrub
assisting physicians in procedure, X-ray fluoroscopy proficiency, operate variable supportive equipment, clean procedure rooms, and preparing instruments for resterilization.
The IR and cath lab teams work primarily Monday-Friday and provide afterhours case support overnight and on weekends.
The typical on-call schedule includes approximately one weekday overnight per week and 13 weekends per year. This is subject to change depending on current staffing levels.
Work Schedule :
M-F, overnight and weekend call
Off-premise on-call required (overnights and weekends) with a 30-minute response time.
Required Qualifications :
- Radiologic Technical training from an accredited American Medical Association (AMA) School of Radiologic Technology.
- Must maintain Certification by the ARRT.
- Must maintain current CPR skills.
- ACLS or willing to obtain within 6 months.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Must be willing to participate in continuing education to remain current of technical advances.
- Interventional Radiology and / or Cath Lab experience preferred.
- Advance certification preferred.
- Demonstrates knowledge of age related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients.
- Willing to work in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
- Works well independently and as part of a team
