Senior Mechanical Engineer - Medical Products
LOCATION :
Windsor Mill, Maryland, United States
JOB SUMMARY :
Development of mechanical design for medical diagnostic system
JOB DUTIES :
- Design a custom instrument in collaboration with internal and external development engineers.
- Coordinate with external machine shops and molding vendors for design and transition to manufacturing.
JOB REQUIREMENTS :
- Minimum of a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or similar engineering degree.
- A minimum of 5 years of new product development experience.
- Demonstrated ability to develop innovative designs from a list of product requirements and to transfer them to production.
- Thorough understanding of conceptual design, design refinement, rapid prototyping methods and design for manufacturing.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks part design and drawings.
- Efficient working practices and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE :
- Experience in design of medical instrumentation is a plus.
- Understanding and compliance with FDA and ISO 13485 design controls is a plus.
- Sheet metal design experience is a plus.
- Injection molding of plastics experience is a plus.
- Medical and / or life sciences product development experience is desired.
