The Sheraton Greensboro / Joseph S. Koury Convention Center is now seeking a professional Sous Chef for its high volume banquet kitchen.

This is a great culinary opportunity at the largest hotel and convention center in the Southeast region!

This position will :

  • Lead the Banquet Culinary Staff in high volume meal preparation
  • Assist the Executive Chef in managing all aspects of the kitchen in a friendly, open-minded manner.
  • A very strong emphasis on monitoring and maintaining the highest standards of health, sanitation and cleanliness within all areas of the kitchen daily.
  • Currently certified in Serve-Safe food management.
  • Assist with development of menu strategies.
  • Monitor quality and presentation, following and assisting in creating AMAZING food.
  • Work alongside the line associates to ensure a seamless event on a day-to-day basis Extensive knowledge of day-to-day details of all culinary operations.
  • Report directly to the Executive Chef.
  • Manage and maintain cleanliness and proper rotation of all food product in coolers and dry shelves
  • The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of high-volume Sous Chef experience.
  • Must be able to execute high-quality, high-volume food production consistently with an emphasis on presentation.
  • Should be able to teach and train staff to prepare and present with the highest of standards when the Executive Chef is both present and off.
  • Job requires attention to detail, ongoing innovative staff training, creativity, food cost control, and organizational skills.
